“King’s Gate” at the Suomenlinna Fortress in Helsinki Harbor.

Something of a departure from my mostly cocktail napkin drawings of the last few months, this sketch is from my stay in Finland in 1986. The drawing combines an overall view with a plan and sections and details.  (Black colored pencil on 12″ x 18″ newsprint pad.)  I’ll be posting some more from my travel sketchbooks in the weeks to come.
