Thursday, January 3, 2019 - Other People’s Art No. 2

My notes read:  “The eyes are made with scribbles.  Also in my sketch. The scribble catches the light of the pupil, and along with the shape of the eye lid, gives the expression much depth for such economy of mark.”

Seeing this lithograph and making this observation was a pivotal moment for me, when the magic of drawing came to life.  And looking back on this drawing I’m struck by how different the expression and mood are between the original and my sketch!
